Laura Newton, BFA, RMT

As a graduate of the renowned Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto, I have helped clients from many different backgrounds including athletes, dancers, pregnant women, seniors, and your everyday workaholic. Fascinated with the body and how it works, I aim to find the root cause of your discomfort and work with you to create the best treatment plan to get you back on track. Helping people achieve their goals is my passion.

As a dance artist and teacher, I discovered massage therapy though my interest in keeping myself and my students safe, healthy and at their best. I found that massage was an excellent way to holistically treat the body and encourage proper body mechanics and posture, healing and preventing injuries. Massage is also a great stress reliever, which is a huge factor in our health and happiness. It also strengthens body awareness, and I believe the most important concept in health care is to educate people about their bodies, empowering them to get involved in their own health.

Trained in Swedish aka Therapeutic Massage, I use techniques such as myofascial release, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, muscle release and joint mobilizations to correct soft-tissue imbalances and release tension. Read more about how massage works here.
